Leather and Maxi

Hey guys, I hope everyone's week is going well. I am trying my best to get back to my weekly blogs. I miss connecting with you guys on a regular basis. I'm feeling much better now. Thanks for the well wishes.  I  have been so busy at work and I haven't had time to post as much. I do have some shoots from the week before I got sick that I will be sharing with you guys soon.  Anyway I am longing for some Spring like weather  right about now. It 's been pretty gloomy around my way. I read that an early Spring is on the way, because the groundhog didn't see his shadow. Uhhh...not quite sure that he was on it this year! I am not complaining I am just saying.....some seventy degree weather sure does sound nice right about now. Nevertheless, I wore a rouge maxi  pleated skirt, cheetah shirt, leather boots and a leather jacket to get over this hump day. What do you guys think?

Hurry it up Spring!!...xoxo MotifMana

Celebrating Meko...!

Hey guys I am so sorry for the slump in posts lately . I came down with a horrible sinus infection that made me feel just awful!! For almost a week I had chills, aches and head pressure. I thought I had the Flu so I decided to go to  the the doctor's office and sure enough it was acute sinusitis. I didn't want to cancel  on my Bestie again this year!  For some reason I always get sick around her birthday. I promised her that I would be in the place regardless and I was!! So grateful I had my husband and best friend to drive me because all of my other  girlfriends couldn't make it.Nevertheless we had so much fun. I had not been to one of her  parties in years but I was so happy that I could make it!  I wore a sheer striped blouse, high -waisted jeans, patent leather sling back pumps and carried a patent leather clutch. The birthday girl was beautiful in all black and gold! Check us out...........

Planning My Week

Hey guys I am back to planning my work week! I have not planned any outfits since last year. I normally plan my whole wardrobe for months in advance! I know that I sound like a total control freak but that is the only way that I can stay organize! I have to plan what I am wearing because I am not a last minute person!!!! Plus who has time to plan an outfit at 5 in the morning?! I usually don't go anywhere at the last minute either so please don't invite me anywhere unless you have some free tickets to see John Mayer or someone you know I love!!!!;). I have to try everything on including accessories to make sure it looks the way I want it to! You guys know what I'm talking about! It has to be and look RIGHT!! Or else you don't feel comfortable!  I try not to wear really high-end clothes or shoes to work, especially being in the profession that I am in. It doesn't make since for me to wear a pair of red soles or YSLs to teach students. Don't you agree? So I have shared with some friends the way I plan my work week and  I thought that I would share these tips with you guys too!  I hope this make planning your week easier:)! I will try to blog about most of these outfits later this week!!! Take a look.....

1. Mondays: I start off the week with a dress and heels. Wearing dresses at the beginning of the work week makes getting out of the door easier for me. It also adds a feminine touch to one of the hardest days of the week and gives me the extra momentum I need  to get my week going.
Orange Sweater Dress, Royal Blue Belt, Leopard Heels and leopard flats to transition in to.

2.Tuesdays: I wear dressy trousers or pants suits with heels. It's still  very early in the week so I like to be somewhat dressy.

Hot Pink  Wide Leg Trousers, Striped blazer, Bow blouse, Black Heel Oxfords and flats to transition in to.
3.Wednesdays: are all about skirts and heels. I love skirts so sometimes I wear them on Mondays too! But Mostly on Wednesdays. I always bring a pair flats that match my heels to wear once my feet get tired.
Brown polka dot skirt, grey turtleneck sweater, snakeskin pumps and snakeskin flats to transition in to.

4. Thursdays: are straight trousers or cords days. All of these themes allow me to get a chance to actually wear my clothes. Because sometimes I forget what's in my closet. This Thursday is Valentines Day so I decided to  wear red and be somewhat dressy!:)

Grey trousers, navy and red blazer, red suede round toe pumps and red suede flats to transition in to.
5. Fridays: are skinny loose fitting trousers or cords. I kinda break the rules on Fridays because I don't always get to wear jeans so I wear the next best thing. Skinny trousers when its nice and skinny cords when its cold. Usually with boots or kicks.

This week red  skinny cords, grey and red turtleneck and grey converse. I'll still be celebrating V-Day:)

Penciling It In

Ok please dont't ask me what look I was going for with  this shoot! Heck I don't know myself....! I guess retro meets rocker chic....Ha! I tried to consider all factors that would take place during  last night's events; weather, standing, after parties, and socializing with friends later in the evening. Plus the dress code was casual  which means that you can wear whatever you want. The hubs and I went to the opening reception for ,"Memphis Artist's of the Future", at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens (His work is in the show). I didn't plan an outfit as usual because I am still getting back to myself  and I didn't "Pencil It In" earlier in the week.  However we ran to the square to do a quick shoot on the way out. No camera's allowed in the museum! I wore this Leopard" Pencil Skirt", paired it with a denim shirt to loosen up the look (didn't feel like being too dressy) booties, leather jacket and a dash of whimsy with the hot pink clutch! What do you guys think?

Things are looking up!

Off to the Show! I really appreciate your comments..:)! Cuter Leopard Pencil Skirts Below...XoXo MotifMana
