"The Polka Dots"

Polka Dot Dress: ASOS (Old) | Hot Pink Wedges: Boutique 9 via Neiman Marcus Last Call (Old) | Bag: TB

Hi Dolls, I hope that you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday! This post goes out to women everywhere and especially, “The Polka Dots”: Dana,  Mana, Michelle, Quita, Wanda, Yvette and a few others that aren’t  pictured here!:))) As of late, I’ve been running 5Ks with some of the sweetest souls on this side of the world!:) These ladies have been such an inspiration to me and I’m so excited about all of the great times we have ahead of us. This past Saturday "The Polka Dots Go (went) Pink” in honor of  "The Race for The Cure" in Memphis, TN. There were so many beautiful souls present ; standing in the gap for their love ones and anyone who has been touch by Breast Cancer. I felt really privileged to have been apart of such a great and important cause. I truly believe that life is all about touching lives and inspiring others. I was reflecting on the day and how blessed I am to have shared it with these ladies who are all working to be better women, wives, mothers, daughters, friends and human beings. So today, I decided to wear Polka Dots and Pink in honor of all women and primarily my soul sisters “The Polka Dots”!!
Much Love and thanks for reading….Sharmana!

Hi Loves, let me just preface this post by stating that this isn’t some vain read about me being awesome or an actual “SUPERSTAR”! Although, I must state-- that I truly believe that “All Women” are “Superstars" in their own right. With that said, a couple of summers ago my friend, artist Susan Eliza and I, along with our men went out for a night of dancing on the Peabody Rooftop. I was wearing a necklace with the word “Superstar”(Here) which inspired this painting and now this post. I feel so honored to have been Susan’s muse for this piece which was a total surprise to me!:)  In Susan’s words, “Superstar is a portrait of Sharmana, inspired by the night we went dancing at the Peabody Rooftop. Even though she was dancing in the crowd, she seemed to be in her own world and intense. The “Superstar" necklace was the perfect accessory to the evening and inspired the colorful text layered over the portrait”.
I am confoundly humbled by her words and this amazing piece. So much, that this past Saturday after seeing the finish product in her studio at the MemFix event ; we decided to take some shots in front of the piece for THIS post! What are your thoughts?? I hope that you enjoyed reading “Superstar”!!  Love… Sharmana

T-Shirt Dress: Forever 21(Here) | Plaid Shirt: Forever 21 (Here) | Sneakers : New Balance (Here) Sunnies (Ray Bans)

Hi Loves, the hubs and I went to the Square (Ole Miss) for a little lunch last Friday before heading back home. You’re talking about a perfect day?? The weather was "JUST GORGEOUSSS” ; I’m infatuated with days like this!! We ran into friends, stopped and chatted for a while ( Me: people watching on the sly… Ha!!!). A lot of folks were in town for the football game which made this little city live as usual! I needed something carefree and easy to throw on for the day, so I brought along this T-Shirt Dress, a plaid flannel and sneakers for a no fuss outfit.

Thanks for reading….Love Sharmana

The Hubs and I inside of "Rowan Oak"

Mosaic Print Dress: Forever 21 (Here) | Booties: Nine West (Old) | Navy Clutch Bag: Tory Burch

Hi Loves,  my hubs (Artist: Terry Lynn) and I had the pleasure to attend the annual "Harvest Supper" at "Rowan Oak" benefiting The University Museum in Oxford, MS this past week. It was a grand occasion; which included: a live band, speakers and a live art auction.  We had a chance to tour a little of "Rowan Oak" ( The legendary writer/poet : William Faulkner’s home) where the "Harvest Supper" was held. You know I was in literary heaven!:)) Only a portion of the house was open to the public during the event but you can come anytime during the day to tour the whole house. The food and ambiance was very nice and the weather was perfect for a "Harvest Supper".
I wanted to wear something that reflected the theme of the night and very fall like, so I reached for this brownish mosaic print dress that I picked up earlier this season and paired it with booties for a Harvesty look!!
I can’t wait to go back for a full tour!:) …Love Sharmana
