I picked up this t-shirt last year that reads,"Comme Ci  Comme Ca ” and thought it would pair nicely with this plaid pleated skirt. "Comme Ci  Comme Ca" is French for : neither good nor bad or feeling indifferent about something ( Oxford Dictionary).

As women we tend to get bogged down with so much, I’ve found that many people want us to be perfect or have it altogether. There is nothing wrong with having moments of indifference, crying, confusion, disappointment, grievance, frustration or even sadness!! I’m a huge proponent of sharing those emotions with people who are mature and safe enough to talk to without judgements!! Heck!!--  feel what you need to feel, release those emotions and move on!! The problem occurs in the dwelling for long periods of time on the negative! We all go through things and life sometimes can be “comme ci  comme ca”!! In the end we all must persevere!! Stay Encouraged!!:))

As of recent, I'd found my self in a bit of a conundrum. You see I had reverted back in to some old ways that were obliterated from my life (so I'd thought)!! I found myself falling back into allowing the opinions of others matter to me! Now, I do believe that sound advice is important but when it's surface advice from people whose beliefs, morals, values and actions are grounded in superficial things that are fleeting than be very careful. People have the tendency to try and control others with their opinions ( human nature and I can be found guilty of this myself) however some will quickly discard you if it doesn't fit their agenda!! I do understand that everyone is trying their best to enjoy their lives in the very best way that they know how but it's highly imperative to surround yourself with people who will be their for you during the good and tough times!

What prompted the urgency of this post?! Well it kinda boils down to self-worth. I've always wanted my blog to be a platform for Empowerment of myself and all women!! While Style, Fashion and Love is important to me ; Love is the greatest of all three!! Love for oneself is most important and I believe that the essence of how you view yourself comes down to the very fiber of your being! I know that how one look (clothes, hair, size and skin) affects most people's self esteem but the reflection in the mirror comes down to what is found on the inside. The way you feel from the inside out and being confident in that is what stimulates your total self: self esteem, self efficacy and your self worth!

After attending "The Talk" presented by TWIN : Jerry and Terry Lynn  at David Lusk Gallery on yesterday, I was impacted in a great way by the words that flowed from my husband and brother in law's mouth. As they spoke about their art work in a bold and fluid manner; I feel that my art should mirror the same.

This past weekend I was thinking about my first blogs and how most of the content surrounded around what I wore and did during my work day. Three years later, I'm pretty excited to share a post reminiscent of those days; especially since they've  become few and far between! Side note, I noticed after this shoot how fogged up my glasses were; which says a lot about how cold it was yesterday (bruhh)!💨💨 No seriously, I am very cold natured (those who truly know me can vouch for that) but I have grown to love and appreciate the cold for more reasons than one. I still feel it the same but I just don’t complain and allow it to hinder or limit my activities any longer. I called that growth!😃

Yesterday was the first day back at school with the students and to say that I felt anything other than indifference would be an exaggeration. After spending the past two weeks ripping and running, falling ill (cold and sinuses) and Ohh in my car most of the time; I need a real break!!😩 You get it...Right !!!? However, back to the grind!  Now, I’ve kept this work wardrobe regimen for quite sometime ( It had been abandoned over the past couple months) but as of late, the zest for all of it had disappeared. I told myself on Sunday night that I needed to re-adopt my regimen to give myself that extra push that I knew I would need to get back into the swing of the inevitable that was about to take place the following day. Ya know what the old adage says, "When you look good, you feel good"! It wasn't that I was going to be super dressed up or anything but I was back on my regimen and that shifted my whole outlook!😃
Everyone knows that my favorite pieces of clothing to wear are skirts, dresses and one pieces; super easy and comfy. I especially love midi and full skirts; they are just super chic…!!!  I picked up this skirt a few years ago and I’m just getting around to wearing it!

What I'm wearing:  Wool Midi Camel Skirt: Mango a few years ago| Red turtleneck: Old Navy| Plaid Toggle Coat| Zara a couple of years ago| Two toned shearling  Booties: Sam Edelman: Pom Hat : F21( old)

Now that Christmas is over with I’m totally ready for Summer! What about you?!

I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how they are not excited to hear people exclaim their New Year’s resolutions and goals (especially on social media) leading up to the New Year! I thought to my self; how insensitive! I am a firm believer that no matter what or how long it takes for you to reach your goals; rather it be a New Year, New Week or a NEW DAY.  Just do you!!! Life is all about being born again and as many times as it takes for you to get it right; by all means keep going. New Year….New Who? You!!!:))

I to, like many of you have so many goals, dreams and desires that I am going to obtain! Nothing is going to stop me! If I fall, I will always get back up and try again and again! We all were born with a huge amount of power and resilience, all we have to do is embrace it!

This New Year’s Eve, the hubs and I went to a party at a friend’s house and we had the absolute best time ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a "House Party mixed with a Love Jones feel, if you get the picture”!:)))) Great DJ, Food and Drinks and wonderful people that could dance dance dance!! It was the best fun with some great people! We danced the whole night! So much fun!!!!!!!!!!!
